CITY OF ORANGE: Fred Kelly Stadium at El Modena High School, 3920 Spring Street, will be the site of the city’s 10th Annual 3rd of July Celebration on Monday, July 3, from 4:00-9:00 p.m. Local non-profit organizations will sell food and novelty items. The event will feature games, live music, pony rides, a petting and BMX stunt bike team exhibition. Patriotic music by the Orange Community Master Chorale of Santiago Canyon College starts at 8:00 p.m. and ends with a fireworks display. Remember! Fred Kelly Stadium has synthetic turf. No peanuts, sunflower seeds, gum, candy, popcorn or lawn chairs will be allowed. Blanket seating is allowed. Tickets are $5 for children and adults, kids two and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Community Services Department, 230 E. Chapman Ave. until June 29. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the gate at El Modena High School on July 3 before 8 p.m. For information call (714) 744-7278 or log on to http://www.cityoforange.org.

VILLA PARK: Irvine Lake will be the site of the Red White and Blue Freedomfest Picnic and Fireworks on July 1 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. The day will start with activities at Villa Park High School from 8:00-1:30 p.m. At 5:00 p.m., the celebration begins at Irvine Lake where you can bring your own picnic or food will be available to purchase. The band White Lightning will provide country music for dancing and almost 2,000 fireworks will light up the sky over the lake. Please go to http://www.villapark.org for more information.
